Black Pepper Software Ltd has been named as an award finalist for the most Innovative Mobile App of the Year in the BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards. The award is being considered for Companion, a multi-dimensional smartphone platform that has gone from strength to strength since launching at the International Confex 2011.
Companion is a location-aware mobile application platform for companies that want to enhance their visitors experience at specific venues or events. Incorporating advanced mapping and routing services, combined with easy to use information and social networking channels, Companion helps users to navigate a location and get the maximum value from their visit. The application can incorporate a range of information, such as schedules, offers and up to date messaging about exhibitors and show highlights.
The application has been implemented at high profile shows such as the BBC Good Food & Gardeners World Live, situated at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Birmingham and The Ideal Home Show, Earls Court London.
The awards ceremony is set to take place on Wednesday 14th November 2012 at Battersea Park Events Arena, London. Black Pepper is competing against some of the industry giants, such as Telefinica UK, yet remains confident in the apps ability to contend.
